In an effort to improve lives and build a better society, the founders of the Arts and Crafts Movement worked collectively and reconnected with nature to produce handcrafted design. In 1865, the V&A's first director, Sir Henry Cole, whose pioneering ideas created the V&A, engaged the talent of the artistic firm of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. to decorate the world's first museum café, still enjoyed by visitors today. "Morris Room Willow" is based on the room's stunning plasterwork pattern by Philip Webb.
