Pantone Colour of the Year 2019

The end of year reveal from Pantone for the colour of the year is an annual wait of anticipation. Following on from 2018’s majestic ‘Ultra Violet’ and 2017’s ‘Greenery’, the reveal of ‘Living Coral’ as 2019’s colour of the year has been described by Pantone as “life affirming” with a “golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge”

A soft pinky peach colour, calm and nurturing which works across all seasons, if you think tropical/sunset inspired hues through the summer months and moodier earthy terracotta tones through the winter – the versatility of this colour can be coordinated beautifully with colours throughout the same colour family.

The 2019 choice also highlights that the best colours come from nature. The leafy green hue of 2017 also testament to that. The inspiration source also draws attention to the beauty of coral reefs along with their fragility and delicacy which we should always protect.

Ongoing for the past 20 years, Pantones Colour of the Year has guided and influenced decisions across many industries including fashion and home furnishings. Here at Bedeck we love to keep an eye on the colour reveal and see how the filtering trend has subconsciously influenced our upcoming collections well in advance of its December reveal.
