Sustainability Statement

At Bedeck, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint by prioritising renewable energy, minimising waste and sourcing responsibly.

Our goal is to create products that are not only high-quality but also kind to the planet. By sourcing responsibly and designing for durability, we aim to keep fabrics in use for longer and reduce waste at every stage of our supply chain.

Bedeck are members of the Better Cotton Initiative. The goal of the Better Cotton Initiative is to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it and better for the environment it grows in.

A large proportion of the cotton used in the manufacturing of our products is sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative.

All our supplying partners are audited using either the SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) methodology or the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) methodology.

SMETA is the world’s most widely used audit. Businesses use SMETA to understand and make improvements to working conditions and environmental performance in their business and supply chain. BSCI is an internationally recognised social accountability standard aimed at improving working conditions in global supply chains.

Bedeck prefer to work with manufacturing sites that are ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) and Higg FEM (Facility Environmental Module) certified.

The ZDHC Gateway is the world’s largest database dedicated to eliminating harmful substances from the textile, apparel and footwear industry.

The Higg Facility Environmental Module is a sustainability assessment tool used to measure and evaluate the performance of manufacturing facilities.

We, at Bedeck, believe that the responsibility of ensuring that our activities are more sustainable does not solely lie with the manufacturing sites. Bedeck have installed biomass boilers that are more sustainable than fossil fuel boilers at their head office and warehousing facility.

Our suppliers are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a globally recognised certification ensuring textiles are tested for harmful substances and safe for human use.

All our packaging is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. The Forest Stewardship Council is a non-profit organisation that promotes responsible forest management worldwide, ensuring that forests are managed sustainably and that forest products are sourced responsibly.

Bedeck are members of SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), which is a global platform promoting ethical and responsible supply chain practices.

More Sustainable Packaging

Bedeck strive to reduce the use of single-use plastic by replacing it with more sustainable options like recycled and recyclable plastic bags and paper-based packaging.
